Centennial Civic Gala

Date: Thursday, June 4, 2009
Time: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Location: Palmer House Hilton Chicago

SSA will honor Frank Clark, Chairman and CEO of ComEd, and congratulate Ron Huberman, CEO of Chicago Public Schools at the Centennial Gala. This special evening celebrates the school’s contributions to the social and human service infrastructure of Chicago and the nation.  Co-chairs for the Gala are David Vitale, Visiting Committee Chairman; John Rogers, Centennial Committee member and Chairman and CEO of Ariel Capital Management; and Brian Simmons, Visiting Committee member.  Event proceeds will support a wave of new collaborations to combat social problems and re-fortify families for years to come.

Frank Clark will receive the Julius Rosenwald Award for Distinguished Civic Leadership.  Frank has contributed extraordinary momentum to the school’s proven education and research programs that forge public collaborations and constitute the premier engine for developing Chicago’s social and human service leadership.  Taking on the most crucial challenge facing Chicago is Ron Huberman, a graduate of SSA and the Booth School of Business.  An impressive public service leader, Ron is engaging teachers, parents, city-wide experts and social supports to help propel forward public schools and improve conditions for distressed children.
